Janice - Thanks for the encouragement on the ear occluding. We are

keeping to the schedule for the most part. The ear plug has a

tendency to disappear at times though....my 5 year old swears it just

falls out ;-) Now I know why they sell so many in the kids pack.

We are actually having fun with the NACD program in my household. Of

course, it is very demanding. Some days I feel so overwhelmed. Gosh,

with the holidays and all the family in town, I think I only

completed about 60%. Arghh. We have been on it for slightly longer

than a month and have our program review next week. So, it is too

early to see much improvement, but we have seen some. I have both my

boys in the program.

My NT 5 year old is improving his pencil grasp (he had a fisted

grip), learning to read, doing algebra, learning about our solar

system and of course the auditory and visual digits (among other

things). I really had no idea what his potential was before the

program. I'm also quite pleased that Bob noticed he has slight low

tone in his arms and fingers. I've had some concern about his pencil

grasp and fine motor skills for the past year or so. We are now doing

finger and arm strengthening excercises to address it. The biggest

improvement is the constipation and belly aches - we no longer have

them. We are not completely milk free, but enough that the belly

aches still have not returned!

My 3 year old (diagnosed with global dyspraxa and SPD - which are all

getting milder and milder) is much harder to keep motivated on the

program. It helps though that he sees his older brother doing it. Of

course, treats are a huge motivation! He has all sorts of different

sequencing activities, jumping, log rolls and spinning for vestibular

issues, and receptive and expresive language excercises. I've even

thrown in reading (since I've noticed he was learning from his older

brother).

Anyway, I can't wait to report back in 6 months or so.
