Adding calories to RSS child

Dear Group:

My RSS grandson (in Israel) is now approaching his second birthday.

Needless to say, he is well

underweight. We just got the results back from his growth hormone

tests and the endocronologist

(at Schneider Children's Hospital) is going to recommend GHT to the

committee. We feel pretty

confident that her recommendation will be quickly adopted and all of

his treatments will be covered

by the insurance basket. (what is called here, Kupat Holim).

Anyway, being an avid reader of all your correspondence, I am now

working on convincing my husband's

son and daughter-in-law that now is the time for us to start adding

many more calories to Noam's diet, and

to do some caloric catch-up before the treatments start. Not everyone

is on board with this, nor has the

endocronologist accepted this point of view. I would like to get all

of us together on his treatment,

and would very much appreciate you directing me to the information that

would help me convince everyone

that this is the direction we should be moving in.

Thank-you,

Ilene

(grandma to Noam, RSS, 23 months)
