Next day, or even later that same day, she holds it. For HOURS!! My 4 1/2 yr old has been accident free for about a month now. But we started almost a year ago. I know exactly what you mean. Funny thing, is that like his two older sisters he's had less accidents while learning when outside the house. Last summer when we all went to the County Fair, was dry the entire day. I was amazed because I didn't know he could do that at that point. But he did. Still it took another 9 months or so for him to get it completely. I wonder how much the diet helped, we started that half a year ago. >I don't want to have to go back and do the whole potty party thing over >again, but I don't know what else to do. I think consistency's important, but then I'm not the one having to take your child to the bathroom. >It doesn't seem to be that she's not ready, more that she doesn't always >want to go on the potty. Yes, that's the way my son was too. I've practically blacked out all those many times I carried him, literally kicking and screaming into the bathroom and locking us both in there till he finally went. The ABA pre-school helped a great deal too. The bottom line though might be how much it helps our kids' self-image. I wouldn't underestimate that, so in a sense we are helping them help themselves, even though it seems to be against their will. Gosh, I hear myself saying this and can hardly believe it, but I guess that's what makes us parents. And you know what, they don't pay us enough to do this kind of work! 8^) Marty
