Hey Marty

It sounds like our kids are somewhat similar. can not be

consistent from environment to environment. She gets bored very

easily. I think she takes everything in but can't give the

appropriate responses when we want them or when we want them

repeatedly.

I would check what they are using as reinforcers at school. Maybe

they aren't varied enough or relying on just one.

Plus you could look into a play activity your son likes like a our

zoo does structured day activities. etc

See if he can tolerate what kind of activities in a structured or

unstructured environment. Perhaps he may need a shadow. That may

give you some answers on if he is ready for mainstreaming. Plus if

doesn't go well - you haven't wasted too much money and time.

I am overly protective of Sam and many times she does better than I

give her credit.
