Guest guest
Hi , Spacing out your meds provides more stable blood levels of thyroid hormone and provides equal immune system suppression. This will help your immune system heal faster. The range you listed for FT4 is incorrect. It should be about 0.8-1.8. I don't recall your listing FT3, but it's important to have FT3 tested too. In GD, many people produce more FT3 than FT4. Symptoms are more important than labs, and you do want to avoid hypoT as in hypoT your gland isn't being suppressed the way it should be. Thyroid antibodies last for 2-3 months before breaking down and leaving your system. So you may be producing less than you were but still have old antibodies in your circulation. Your TSI doesn't indicate that you are a long way from remission because it's impossible to tell if your immune system is still actively producing antibodies. It does mean though that without meds, your hyperthyroid symptoms would return as you are not yet in remission. Take care, elaine
