Guest guest
Friends, I'm glad to find out I'm not the only one with trouble cleaning. I would like to recommend a wonderful book - " The New Messies Manual " , by Felton. She has a section on how the thinks her messiness came from ADD. I never thought I had ADD until recently, and my case may be mild, but it sure shows up when I try to clean! I find myself doing one thing and then getting distracted (or bored) and starting another and then never finishing anything up. I have wondered if I should resort to training tactics for autistic children like putting a string around my neck with a card that says " Doing dishes " as an attempt to keep me on task. The author of the Messies manual, Felton, treated her ADD with ritalin and was able maintain her house better afterwards. From doing the diet with my daughter - off and on - I have proved to myself that my " allergies " affect my ability to function in general and especially to clean. When I am allergic or tired I have trouble making decisions (a local clutter consultant said " clutter is delayed decisions " ) and staying focused which means I can't do things I hate like cleaning. Doris Rapp and Megson both mentioned that the mothers are suffering too. I wish we could all get cured without having to avoid 40zillion foods. I think we are getting close!
