Guest guest
Dear Elaine and all, Welcome back, Elaine. I hope you had a great trip. YOu were missed, but the your spirit is ever present. I received my latest lab results yesterday. TSH 1.09 (range .5 - 5.0) Free T4 1.0 (range .8 - 1.8) My endo and I e-mail. I reported to my endo that I lowered the PTU dose from 150 mg daily to 100 mg as soon as I had the blood work becuase of severe symptoms...sleeplessness, chest discomfort, buzzing/tingling, cold hands, joint pain/stiffness, memory, overwhelmed feeling, blood pressure of 80's/50's, etc. I considered reporting to the emergency room the night before the labwork. The endo repeats to me that I have reduced the dose. (I don't know what she would have done.) I see her Oct. 17, but she doesn't want the next bloodwork for 6-8 weeks. My FT4 have reduce dramatically with each lab on PTU...2 weeks..FT4 for 3.36 to 2.3...after 3 weeks PTU Ft4 1.4...after nearly 4 weeks PTu and drop inderol FT4 1.0. I am so near HYPO with my Ft4 now that I am afraid to go 6 to 8 weeks before the next bloodtest. How do I convince my endo to keep me closer to " normal " on the hyper side. As I look back I have always had hypO symptoms. These few weeks of hyperthyroid are the first time I have not had COLD hands and feet. I've like that. I have so many aches and pains. And for the few weeks while I was hyper...they were so much less. Yet..when my TSH was always 1.5 to 2.6 I complained to doc's about my discomfort. Most past TSH scores were .6. How do I get my endo to make that our goal? Why does she seem to want me on the verge of HYPO? Research? that I can take for my case would help. Meanwhile I wait for the test result for growth hormone and and endocrine tumor. Thanks for any thoughts. Ever hopeful, AJ
