Welcome Alison, I am another Aussie but live in Japan and am being treated for GD here. We seem to have a few new Australians in the group, Liz and you and I am sure there was one more as well. Sorry, I have forgotten your name. Graves Memory! Then of course there is Caroline and Dawn Rose who have both been in the group longer than I have. You mentioned symptoms that you hadn't realised were related to GD. I know just what you mean by the legs turning to jelly. I found I could not stand up from a sitting position without holding on to something. There were lots of other things prior to being diagnosed that I never realised were all a part of the GD package: tremors in the hands, itching, gritty and watery eyes, etc. There are so many symptoms but the doctors do not seem to be interested in telling us all of them or maybe they do not realise themselves how extensive the symptoms can be. For the new people in the group it might be useful to refer you to the Symptoms List that is in the Files. This is very comprehensive and includes some that have been compiled by canvassing the group for their own experiences. Also I remember looking at the Top Docs list and seeing that there were several endos and GPs listed in Australia so if those new to the group from Australia are looking for docs that have been recommended that would be a good place to start. Only problem is I do not have the website for the Top Docs list. Maybe Pam L or Pam B will have it and can post it. Anyway good to see some new compatriots in the group!
