Thanks for your response.

Even though I have felt low thyroid which caused me to lower my

Tapazole dose from 2.5 to 0 over the last three weeks, when I

had my blood test on Tuesday it was within normal ranges.

That's after being on no tapazole for 1 week.

TSH =.43

Free T3 =276

Free T4 = 1.4

That's the lowest my TSH has gone since 4-02 when it was .04

and I hope it doesn't go much lower. FYI, I have been on

Tapazole since September 2000. I am feeling better, and hope I

go into remission. Could be some of my fatigue right now is due

to stress (upcoming marriage) and hormones (approaching

menopause).

I am going to look at the Mediboard discussion.

Thanks, Lois

discoveries in Graves' and the general consensus is that the

thyroid does not generally " burn itself out, " despite what some

doctors think. You can find it in the current Graves' discussion at

Mediboard.com; it's titled " Scientists close in on Graves'. "

their bodies to adjust to the change when stopping an antithyroid

drug, which suggests you should start feeling better in time. How

long were you on Tap and what are your labs like? Hope you're

feeling better.

Lois,

Have you been tested for your antibody levels? (Specifically TSI.) If your

antibodies are still present, then you are at increased risk to go hyper

again. Not sure you are in remission.

If you still have TSI, then maybe you could be maintained on a low dose of

Tap with a little thyroid replacement hormone to help you to feel more

comfortable.
