Guest guest
Hello all - My daughter - now 13 months has started walking. We have also recently started the Peptamin jr. She has, since starting the pep jr - 4 BMs a day. She does not like the taste of the pep - so we are mixing 1/2 formula the other 1/2 pep - she will drink her bottles this way. But, now also she has (over the past week) been eating less and less table food -she used to be a great table food gal! Also, her weight gain over the past 6 weeks has only been 1oz - she had been gaining about a pound every 2 months. I also checked her ketones this morning and for the first time is spilling " small " amounts. I know when Dr. H saw her she thought -no reflux problems - but in the past month she has had 3 episodes where she has thrown up almost from eating too much. Coincidence or silent reflux??? So here are my questions: 1. Do I take her off the pep jr - causing more stools? - switch to something else. 2. If I keep her on it - any suggestions for making it taste better? I have tried the flavor packets. 3. Do I need to pursue a GI workup? 4. Since starting to walk - and burning all the cal she takes in - she is spilling ketones - do I need to bring her in for this? I can't force feed her? Her affect is bright, she is happy??? 5. Does anyone know where I can get some valium? (jk) Thanks in advance for any advice! Jane, mom to - 13 months 13lb 15oz, 26 " and 2 boys.
Guest guest
Hi Jane, My son won't take Peptimen Jr. either. He has been on an organic formula for a long time and loves it, but recently he became more congested and he can't go the bathroom. I just thought that I would mention that since we switched his formula, although we still have to put a little of the old stuff in for taste, he is less congested and eating better. I think that some formulas just cause reflux in some children or maybe they need to change occasionally. We are still dealing with the constipation, but we are seeing a nutritionist. Anyway, I have no idea, but maybe one of the formulas you are using is increasing reflux, although Peptimen s suppose to be better. I don't know if this makes sense or if you have already solved the problem, I just thought I would throw in my two cents. Good luck, Mom to Jonah looking for advice > > > Hello all - My daughter - now 13 months has started walking. We have also recently started the Peptamin jr.
