Guest guest
: Thanks for responding to my e-mail about rotation diets. I barely have time to make everything from scratch and I am a well organized person. I have lists everywhere and still am at a loss somedays with my childs eating habits. He has alot of food issues to textures, smells and color. I am going to try your idea about freezing them with information about the color, etc. and then try them again. All of this information helps us out in this process. Thanks, Sharon
Guest guest
Sharon To answer your one question about rotation diets, this is what my 4 year old eats on a 3 day rotation (with a fourth day mixed in once and a while): 1) Meat puffs - a variety of turkey, pork or chicken with a vegie almost every day (and a rotated flour: rice, potato, sorghum, quinoa/tapioca.) 2) Potato logs or french fries 3) I make 12 different kinds of muffins with different flours and fruit or veggies for snacks and eating every day 4) Rice biscuits with almond butter (it perfectly replaces PB & J) 5) And three types of cookies of course! 6) lets not forget chicken fingers!! 7) I rotate corn one day every week because of allergies and Jeff enjoys taquitos and corn chips for 1 meal. All recipes are located www.curingjeff.org under GF CF DIET Jeff's food pyramid and variety is not perfect. But it is improving. He is extremely healthy. He used to have severe adversions to texture and colors and we have eased up here a bit. We have a ways to go on this one. I have found most autistic kids I have met had a food texture color thing. Jeff is working on carrots (raw) and other foods like salad. This will take time. Variety and openess to texture happens over time, I have slowly changed the color and texture of favorites. When they don't work out (which is 1 out of 4 times) I freeze them with notes about color and texture and pull some out after a month passes. It ends up working after that. Getting him hungry works too! Jeff's test results early on showed hardly any protein absorbtion and some nasty parasite. So I focused on solving that problem. Now a year and a half later (besides countless other benefits) those issues are gone and his poops: picture perfect. Rashes: 98% gone - they come back 1 a month for a couple of days (i will have this figured out soon!) His complexion: wonderful. These are the things I like to rave about. I hope this helps A Jeffs mom Re: rotation diets-and idea- for LISACNA : One of the best things about your post are that you speak from the heart, openly and honestly even if criticism is around the corner. The rotation diet is not for everyone, each child acts and reacts to things differently and we must do what is best for our kids since we know them the best. I have eliminated all of the possible cross contamination issues with our family by introducing the zero tolerance order. Everyone eats the same food, if you don't like it go out and get your own food. I am not a short order cook and the GFCF food is good once you have been cooking for a while and it won't kill you. Some of my friends are doing the rotation diet and go crazy trying to remember the third thursday of the month is this food and the second tuesday of the month is this. That is not for me. For the people that are doing the rotation diet, I have this question for you. How many foods do your children have? It seems that our kids only like a small percentage of foods, chicken, fries, etc. So how do you do it? Thanks for taking the time to respond.
