My doctor calls it " Restless Leg Syndrome " and it seems to run in families. All of the women in my family have it. It makes you feel like you need to jump up and run. The worst tmes are in airplanes or movie theaters, whenever you need to keep still, or at night when trying to sleep. Hot baths help, so does sitting up and dangling your legs. And aspirin. It's truly a pain. Terri Graves disease 1979; treated with RAI; exothalmia 1982, treated with IV steroids; since then on one or another form of replacement hormone. New flare up of TED with severe double vision, swelling in intraocular muscles and inflammation in August of 2002. Currently hypoactive. Treated TED with prednisone. It worked while on prednisone, but TED came back worse after. Underwent Orbital radiation June-July 2003. No change yet.
Guest guest
I get that when I go a little hypo and I've found the best thing for it is exercise. If I ride a bike or do some aerobics or something, I feel MUCH better./ Kristi Bouncy Leg? > Hi all, > > The past couple days I've experienced what I would term a " bouncy > leg " thing--each time it's felt like a severe pulsating in a large > vein or somthing (once behind my knee and the other time behind my > thigh) that is strong enough that I can feel it if I touch my skin > over the area. Guest guest
I remember the first time I spent the night with my (now) husband... he woke up that morning to me bouncing my foot - I think of it more as a wiggling of my foot - and was kind of annoyed by it - I was still asleep and not really aware that I did it in my sleep - I knew it was something I did often while awake - always thought it was a sign of type A personality, or too much going on in my life, or energy not spent... whatever. This was 10 years ago, WAY before graves showed it's ugly face.... and makes me think that perhaps the signs of graves go back much farther than the 1.5 years that I've been dealing with it. Pam B.
