I'm sorry I didn't see your email earlier today. I have started a course

this week and was out early this morning.

I would think that at the kindergarten level, the IEP modifications that you

have included are and will be enough. Some of the things I would have

suggested are for older children. I suppose you could have made a point to

say that you would be willing to make up any 'work' that is missed by doctor

appts. but again, at the kindergarten level I can't see that it would be

that much.

Oh one thing you might consider is to make sure adaptations are made for his

learning environment due to size (eg. smaller chair and table, lower coat

hook that kind of thing were he can feel independent.......not having to ask

others for help is big to feeling independent). Here in Ontario, our IEP's

are a " work in progress " which means things can be added, changed or deleted

at any time on the teacher/school and/or parent request. If you have

forgotten anything you might see if that is possible.

-- Hi thanks for the info, I got through things pretty well, my main

things were like you said, were the height issues and lowering

things and they were very o.k. with this. They also mentioned

independence to so I like the fact that they agree with how I

feel. They already have a smaller chair they ordered for him. The

main issues was the bus I want him on the special needs bus because

of the other kids on the bus are so much older and they might cause

him to fall or get knocked over. Plus he is to tiny! Well thank you

for helping me out I am also going to check on keeping it open hugs

and a great big thanks

- Please call MAGIC 800-3MAGIC3 and request library

document #H-67 - Convention 2003 Handouts from " School Accomodations

for the RSS/SGA Child. " This presentation was done by Yvette Getch

and Jodi Zwain, and the handouts are VERY comprehensive, with tons

of ideas about what to include.

An ABSOLUTE for any parent of a school-age RSS/SGA child to have.
