Carole--Graves' and asthma

Hi Carole,

I wanted to make a couple of comments on your post to Elaine (and count on her

to give you a more definitive answer).

For me having asthma and Graves' meant I had to take an alternative heart

medicine, a calcium channel blocker rather than a beta blocker, as the latter

made me feel I was gasping for air. I also believe the flaxseed oil I take for

Graves' helps my asthma too.

I also had a high eosinophil reading during my first three months of treatment,

which then dropped back into the normal range (I'm on PTU rather than

carbimazole). I was told it had to do with an allergic reaction (or maybe the

Graves' itself).
