Have any of you ever had problems with those little cholesterol deposits that

just suddenly appear under the skin? I had three of them come up, one on both

eyelids, and one under the right eye. I had them removed by cosmetic surgery,

but I sure did get tons of stares before I had them taken off. Trying to find

the right thing to cover them was another thing too. The ones on the eyelids

just suddenly appeared one day, above one eye, as a very small pin dot looking

rather odd, like a whitehead, only they kept getting bigger, and yep, at the

time I had no insurance, but every dr who did see me once I got insurance always

commented on them?

They started when my first husband died from heart related problems, then got

worse from there. That was in 1990. They didn't all pop up at the same time,

the first one I noticed when I was putting on makeup above my right eye, not too

far from the inside corners of my eye. That was my first incident of losing

weight (quite a bit of weight) over a months time. I was overweight and had

been since 1986 when second son was born.

Hi Sandy, I get those too. The first one when I was in high school... a few

more over the years... and I think I've got one starting on one eyelid -

right on the edge. Wonder what causes them?

supposedly there is a name for them Pam, but it's a long technical name I can't

even remember. I remember the surgeon telling me that I might get them back,

because the laser surgery might just relieve me of them for the time

being....but they never came back. I have a picture here somewhere that when I

run across it, I'll share it. Gosh, I hated those things! But, I was also

having trouble with weight at the time and had lost tons of weight. He did tell

me that they were caused by cholesterol.

I just happened to think about them today. You can't even tell that I had them

now, and it only cost me a small fortune to have them removed and replaced with

stitches! lol
