Guest guest
I am very interested in learning that also Liz, if it's available. I do know that when I first started seeing my endo, and was hyperT/Graves, my resting pulse was 93. He claimed that was too fast, and gave me the prescription for 50 mgs of Atenolol. That is not the highest my resting pulse has been, as it recently went up to 124 or 125 two weeks ago when i realized I'd forgotten to take my meds. ackkk! :-( Sandy~Houston Pulse rates - Sittin on the fence Hi all Can somebody tell me what is the normal pulse rate, hypo pulse rate and hyper pulse rate. I am trying to work out how I am doing from day to day on ATD doses. Sorry - but I have just realized that this could be a good way to monitor myself! Thanks - Liz ============================= on liz.jameson@...
Guest guest
From what I've read, normal pulse for an adult is 60-80 BPM.
Guest guest
Liz, I can answer for me. May be different for you however. When I'm hyper my pulse is routinely above 80 bpm, spiking up to 100 or so for no reason here and there. Normal, I'm in the 70's, and when I start to go hypo, below 70 and even down to 60 bpm. Concurrently my blood pressure is normal (for me) when I'm normal--between 90/60 and 110/80, and high when I'm hypo (anything over 120/80, the highest I've ever gone is 128/?, I forget the bottom number, but not much over 80). The hyper phase doesn't seem to have a corresponding drop in BP, so I didn't include that. Another clue, if you happen to get the test run is cholesterol levels. They skyrocket when you're hypo, much to my dismay when I discovered that! They were always pleasantly low when hyper.
