Guest guest
Hello, I am a grad student in public health and also work for a non-profit providing outreach and health/other services to Mexican and Central American immigrant day laborers. For my academic work I am seeking references (academic and other available reports/information) on how concerns about alcohol use among farmworkers and other/urban Spanish- speaking im/migrant populations have been or are being addressed (but excluding school-based or other interventions aimed primarily at youth). What approaches or prevention efforts have been tried? To what extent are they described or have they been evaluated? I am working with a group that envisions interventions addressing alcohol use at a more structural level instead of individual level treatment or health education--but I can't find too many accounts that could provide us with important lessons learned. Please post any replies or respond to me directly (pworby@...) and I will gladly recirculate any list I am able to compile. Thank you, a Worby
