In some cases it seems justified, as when we discovered that the brand of tuna we were feeding our son had casein. How the heck listing " hydrolyzed soy protein " is supposed to allow for casein I'll never, ever figure out. But in the five months since starting our son on the diet, 's gone through lots of food crazes, including hot dogs, corn cereal, cashews, and grapefruits (two biggies). My wife, much more cynical about the diet than I've been finally admitted last night that he has been eating much better in the past 5 months. I noticed this the first week... maybe I'm the optimistic type in this case. Anyway, I think some of it's normal. What pleases me greatly is that in the long run my son is learning to enjoy a variety of foods. Once in a while now he'll eat a few cashews, or peanuts. Betcha in a month or three we'll get him to eat half a grapefruit again. This for a kid who 6 months ago ate cereal and milk, noodles and ketchup. Marty p.s. I want to look for a gfcf brand of tuna tonight at the supermarket... curious to see if will eat lots of it or not. Plus since I'm on the diet too now I want to get a little more variety myself.
