Guest guest
I took Evan recently to an allergist to have a blood test for food allergies and my DH took the phone call from them today to say that Evan did not show any allergies to any foods. Of course, this was not a test for food intolerance's. The allergist did question, before the blood draw, if Evan's rash was a yeast rash. Since it is under control while I am giving him a tablespoon of Kirkman's colostrum once and sometimes twice a day, I believe he is right. I don't think that it would take much for it to come back in force. I am thinking about taking my copy of " Biological Treatments for Autism and PDD " and asking her if she will read Dr. Semon's article on anti-yeast therapy. She is pretty open to what we have asked of her so far. Which is not a whole lot but she did willingly write the note to the school for the GFCF diet. She referred us to the allergist with just a faint rash to go on. And she is working with the Regional Center and their Tele-medicine psychiatrist who suggested Respirdal for Evan's running behavior. There is also the article Appendix B: 'Treating gut dysbiosis' in " The Mercury Detoxification Position Paper " that might help. I am not sure how easy it will be to get a stool sample but I was wondering about asking her to give him some Diflucang and how hard it would be since he does not swallow pills. Can it be crushed? Should I asked her about going with the Nystatin? We have not done the yeast free diet but we have seen some improvement with the GFCF diet. I was wondering how many saw improvement with the yeast free diet with just improvement with the GFCF diet? I do not intend on taking him off the gfcf since it has made him more aware of what is going on but I know that something is still missing and that lingering pink on his bottom is just that red rash waiting to come back once the colostrum is stopped. --Betty
