Hi Everyone,

Sunday a message was posted that conatined a link to some photos of

kids with RSS. The photos were of naked children with RSS,

scoliosciss (?sp), and severe asymmetry. They were quite disturbing.

Several people pointed this out to me and I agreed. I checked out the

photos and was quite disturbed by them. So I deleted the message that

conatined the link to those photos.

I made a mistake. Those photos are part of the web page for the

Institute for Child Health in South Africa. They are from the

pediatrics department and are part of a large collection of photos of

all kinds of medical conditions. Of course they show the extreme

cases highlighting some particular illness. I believe they maybe used

as a teaching tool or research aid and so do have any captions or

explainations with them.

So, here is the link to the Institute of Child Health. From there you

can find the page which conatins photographs for all kinds illnesses.

Please keep in mind that these photos are taken to show the extremes

and some maybe very disturbing. However disturbing the photos maybe,

this web site has some good links to other medical info.

The Institute of Child Health, University of South Africa, Cape Town

web page is located at http: //www.lib.uct.ac.za/ich/
