Hey Tonya!!!

You WILL be able to give the shots every day, and before you know it, it

will become old hat. Take it from one that knows. I have learned to do SO

MUCH that I never thought I would be able to do, and I have really grown as

a person, all thanks to .

The one thing I personally NEVER thought I would be able to do was give my

g-son a nightly shot! I have no idea why it was such a problem for me. I

don't fear shots, or needles, or giving blood, but this just sent my knees

atrembling!!

Listen carefully to the trainer about how to set up the shots, and give

them, and then insist that you get sometime to practice on something other

than your child. Ask if maybe they have some extra needles, and shoot vodka

into an orange (which you can eat to celebrate giving your first shot! LOL)

And try to NOT be alone when you give Aubrey the first shot. If you know

anyone that knows how to give the shot, have them come by. Maybe a friend, a

nurse from your peds office, or a support person of your choice, but I found

it really calming to know that someone that knew what they were doing, was

watching what I was doing. Does that make sense???

I was lucky enough to be at the convention, with some wonderful friends by

my side when I gave my first shot, which by the way, was not on my g-son!!

Jodi Z lent me her son, (with his agreement of course!! Thanks for life

Max!!) and allowed me to learn on his thigh!!! My second shot ever was on

, but Carmen sat right by my side and talked me through each step. It

really was a life saver for me!!

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is, that as a parent/g-parent we just seem to

find a way to cross the gap from what we think we can't do, to what we can

do for our kids. I'm sure you will do just fine! If I can do it, ANYONE can!

LOL

Hugs for you both!!
