I don't know if it's related to TED or not, but I had several of these last

summer, at least they sound like the same thing. A small node in the upper

eyelid. My eye doc said they were Chalszions. Here's a link with info on them.

I had to use hot compressions several times a day. Some of them dissipated

and dissolved. A couple drained externally. But it took a few months before

they were gone, and I appear to have another one starting now.

Terri

Graves disease 1979; treated with RAI; exothalmia 1982, treated with IV

steroids; since then on one or another form of replacement hormone. New flare

up

of TED with severe double vision, swelling in intraocular muscles and

inflammation in August of 2002. Currently hypoactive. Treated TED with

prednisone.

It worked while on prednisone, but TED came back worse after. Underwent

Orbital radiation June-July 2003. No change yet.

Hi Terri,

I haven't heard of this condition being related to GO, but GO can impede

lymphatic drainage in the eye area, and this might contribute to it.

I'd be curious to hear if anyone else with GO has this. Take care, Elaine

Hi Elaine,

I also had a chaladium (spelling?) on my left eyelid when I was about three

years RAI. Regards, Annegal

My eye doc said they were Chalszions. Well, that’s what I thought I was

spelling. drat. So yes, I had this occur but only once.

Regards,

Annegal
