Hi Sandy,

I used to subscribe to the flylady. I gave it up a long time ago, but I want

to tell you that one thing stuck with me. LOL

I have a very clean and shiny sink. One day my 6 yr. old Granddaughter said

to me " Grandma you like your sink don't you? "

It does work though doing it her way.

Thanks for posting this. I had forgotten about her.

Betty

When I got sick with my thyroid in latter 2001, I was so tired I could

hardly move. I felt awful, looked awful, and was unable to do many things

I'd enjoyed doing before the onset of HyperT/Graves. I was always one to

just get up and do it if it needed to be done, and it bothered me terribly

that I no longer felt good enuff to do these things. My best friend was

also diagnosed with MS at about the same time and I stumbled onto something

that has helped me in more ways than one.

I saw an article in a magazine and since my house was in such disarray, I

decided that I'd try anything if it helped. (I know some of you have

prolly faced this too). I checked out the link they listed in the magazine

at www.flylady.net and I started receiving my emails. I just recently

found that there are people on her email list who have the same problem I

have and are finding ways to manage doing things that they no longer felt

like doing or were unable to do. I love the concept she's devised and it's

working for me when nothing else would. I know we are all living in such a

busy society and we don't always have the time, even if we felt like it and

her 15 minute rescue plans work so well for me, that my son even helps me

and is in the 15 minute plan himself (he's only 16) and his room has never

been cleaner! lol

There are many things to be learned on her site, so check it out if you

feel overwhelmed by things that used to come easy for you. I even had to

hire somebody to clean house for me once a week when I felt at my worst. I

no longer have her help, but am managing on my own to do the things that

are not only expected of me, but to even have more time for myself. I

certainly didn't need an extra folder for a bunch of emails but I will do

anything that works, and so far, I've not been disappointed and actually

accomplish things. I just have more emails to read through! lol

Thanks for the link, it sounds really interesting.

Last weekend, I had a very clear illustration of the state I've been

in since the onset of Graves. My niece came to help me get stuff

organized in the office, and we had filing from back in 1997 -

exactly when I started getting hyper. It was nice to put all the old

papers away, felt like I was cleaning up some of the last bits of the

disarray Graves caused. Now, am seriously thinking about doing

gardening for the first time in 6 years . . .
