Guest guest
Ok, all this talk about Pediasure gets me thinking! has been on Nutren 1.5 for years. This has 1.5 calories/ounce. He went on this because he couldn't tolerate a large volume of formula, but needed the extra calories. Dr. H says this is just like Pediasure in terms of sugar. She recommended a formula called Compleat Pediatric, which is a blenderized formula consisting of meat, fruits, and vegetables. 's GI doctor down here doesn't seem too impressed by this recommendation. I would like to use this formula, but it only has the traditional 20 calories/oz. I would have to give an extra 2 cans per day that what he is getting now of the Nutren 1.5 to get the same number of calories into him. That would mean being bolus fed in the day, which he will not want to do again (he will be 11 next month & is self-conscious about his tube). Also, this formula is supposed to be for ages 1-10. Does anyone know of a similar formula that has 30 calories/oz which can be used for older children? Kim C.
