Guest guest
Hi , Your doctor feels that because your TSH is low, your thyroid levels are dropping and you need less MMI. Normally TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone, which comes from the pituitary gland) is high if you need more thyroid hormone and lower if you have enough. In the case of Graves', though, TSH can stay low for other reasons. Did your doctor test for T4 and T3 (or, better, FT4 and FT3)? These are your actual thyroid hormones and better reflect what's going on. Many people have better luck splitting their MMI into two or three daily doses but I realize that 2.5 mg may be hard to split. Best wishes, B. Guest guest
, I am finding your post quite confusing, I'm not sure you said things as you meant them. TSH is low (usually <.01) when we are hyper and rises when we move towards hypo. It is just the opposite of the FT4 and FT3 which are high when we are hyper and come down into the normal ranges as we move towards hypo. Oops, thanks for correcting that, Terry. I guess when I woke up this morning no one notified my brain! Best wishes, B.
