Guest guest
Well, the blind dermatologist who thought it was eczema had lots of people at work laughing. This looks nothing like eczema. Then I saw my brothers when I was on vaca and my twin has the same rash, diagnosed as vasculitis. So I went to my holistic osteopath and he agreed it's vasculitis and said some of the lesions are ecchymoses related to the vasoconstriction seen in hypothyroidism. He also noticed I have some vitiligo on my arm that I hadn't noticed. He said both vasculitis and vitiligo are often seen in hypothyroidism. Even though my thyroid replacement keeps me from being clinically hypothyroid I develop many of the symptoms characteristic of hypothyroidism. I guess since we really are hypothyroid, this makes sense. Topical steroids have stopped the blistering but not the purple lesions. Why don't you ask your doctor what he thinks since your rash sounds exactly like mine. Take care, Elaine
