OT: antidepressants and IBS--Barb

Hi Barb,

Your comments made me want to mention my mother's experience with

antidepressants and IBS. She developed irritable bowel syndrome two years ago,

and the first time her intestines let loose on her, it was the night she was

told to take some Paxil for the first time. She says she's since seen a list of

antidepressants that either do or don't trigger IBS and that Paxil was one that

does. Maybe the doctor who's prescribing your antidepressant could find this

info and you'd have a quicker time finding one you tolerate.
