Guest guest
Hi HD- There is a difference of 1000 between micrograms and milligrams. Although Armour is manufactured in 60 mg tablets (1 gr), there are roughly only 38 mcg of T4 and 9 mcg of T3 per tablet (PDR 2003). The rest of the tablet is dye and fillers. In answer to your question, you'd need 38 mcg of Synthroid to equal the 38 mcg of T4 in Armour. Since Synthroid only comes in 25 or 50 mcg pills, your doctor would probably prescribe either one or the other. Take care, > I have a question about the amount of T4 in Armour being equal to the > T4 in synthroid. > Since the ratio of T4 to T3 in Armour is about 4 to 1 (four parts T4 > to 1 part T3) which means you get about 48 mg of T4 and 12 mg of T3 > in one 60 mg pill of Armour.
