Guest guest
Hi. My daughter Sam has had styes since she was 2 years old. As a matter of fact I can not remember a time she has not had them from from the time she was 2. Initially I followed all the doctors instructions about hot soaks, the antibiotic ointment. We have two surgeries for drainage and incisions. They never went away. They always get worse in the winter and shortly in July. As I started to read more about Autism. Sam was diagnosed after age 2 in the spring. I suspect she had some physical allergies. When I brought this up with my eye doctor and our ped. They almost snickered. Yet she continued to get worse. I really started the diet - out of concern for her eyes because the stye was starting to scar. Sam is a very picky eater and before the trouble with speech - her eating habits and bowel habits always concerned me. I could never get anyone to take me seriously. Since the diet her eyes look to most people almost normal. She has one stye ( chalazion) which is flesh color and about the size of small pea. In the past BD ( before the diet) these were inflamed red, about the size of a penny or a dime and it was not usually - she would have more than 1 on 1 eye. I suspect she has other food allergies and maybe some environment ones. and probabily some immune thing. I am searching for a " good " DAN doc to help. I am going to get the DAN MD manual and see if my ped will follow it since I can now demostrate some improvements. If I can not I will try and get consult with some DAN docs in Fla. I have heard good things about them. Right now I keep Sam on the diet, do SNT and TMg vits, do twice a day baby shampoo washes and antibiotic ointment. I am going to go back to eye MD and see what he thinks Are you on the diet? Let me know if I can help Good luck Jeneane, Houston, TX Nick NT (5 yoa) Sam PDD NOS ( 3yoa) Beth NT (2yoa)
Guest guest
I have heard that styes can be a sign of being low in B vitamins. Just a thought. Maureen
