Guest guest
For the last four and a half years I have had my period every two weeks. Only once did it change to three weeks. The first year I went to the doctor, he did an ultra sound but no blood test. He said there was a cyst on my ovary but it wasn't anything to worry about. It later painfully burst. Then last year I went to a different doctor who took a blood test and found I had Graves. My menstrual cycle wasn't addressed. Now my endo tells me " It's just your normal cycle - it's just you " and then asks if I want the contraceptive pill. Does anyone think that taking the contraceptive pill will regulate my cycle in the long run? I actually think that it is more related to a copper deficiency. I read that depleted copper messes up the menstrual cycle. I have been a vegetarian since I was 17. I am now 31. I almost had anemia when I first started because I hadn't supplemented other foods into my diet, and so the doctor told me to take iron tablets. I had been taking iron tablets almost every day for 12 years when I read that it damages your liver, so I stopped. Now I think that it is highly possible that I have a very low amount of copper stored in my body and that could be the cause of the upset. Anyone have any ideas?
