Guest guest
Hey gang- Isaac has been opening and closing his mouth (kinda like chewing) when he babbles and I heard this popping noise. I don't hear the noise when he eats. Just wondering if that is " normal " baby stuff or if any of your kids do the same. Thanks- Mimi (mom to Isaac RSS, hypothyroid almost 7 mos 10 lbs 9 oz, 22 3/4 " )
Guest guest
Hi, I have TMJ (inflammation of the joints where the jaw meets skull) and although my jaw doesn't pop, it is common for those with TMJ to hear " popping " . , mom to M ichael 4.5 (non SGA), Emerence 18 mo. 17 lb 7 oz 28.5 inches SGA > Hey gang- > > Isaac has been opening and closing his mouth (kinda like chewing) > when he babbles and I heard this popping noise. Guest guest
Isaac might be popping his tempromandibular joint (TMJ) in and out of socket when he opens wide. If he has hypotonia it would make it easier to do. Hold your hands in front of his ears and have him open and close. You can feel it if it is not functioning properly. Guest guest
it's really hard to tell without hearing it . I know TMJ which is loose jaw ligaments (like the jaw is double jointed) can result in a popping or clicking sound. popping noise in mouth Hey gang- Isaac has been opening and closing his mouth (kinda like chewing) when he babbles and I heard this popping noise.
