Subject: ABC NEWS --Autistic boy is class valedictorian

Message-ID:

I saw on ABC World News Tonight last night a story about a young man with

autism whose mother faught to have him mainstreamed. Once mainstreamed,

he

did so well that he just graduated high school and was the class

valedictorian! He received a full- scholarship to college as well. How

wonderful!

This was just sent to me on another site I am on. We can't ever give up

on our kids. Wow, just think how great this mom must feel. I wish I had

gotten to see it.

Hi all,

I happened to see this clip on the the news last night..it was very

touching. I so admired the boy's mom who had the courage to go against the

powers that be in her son's school on his behalf. It's things like this

that keep me going!

Fondly,

J-- Graham and Hayley's mom

According to the article I read, the boy was originally in a private school

that " was too easy. " The mom had him transferred to a DC public school where

he was challenged. It's nice to know that the best education for our

children can run the gamut form private to public to home school.
