Guest guest
Hi Everyone I recently had a beautiful 7.5lb baby girl 3 weeks ago and put her on soy formula. Now here is my question. Starting 1 week after birth her bum started to get REALLY raw and break out in tiny blood spots. I called Pedi and put her on alternating hydrocortisone and lotrimin with Desitin over it. Pedi said it is NOT a yeast problem that it is contact from her stools to her bum. I tried this for 1 week and now her bum is REALLY bad it's like the top layer of skin is peeled off. She screams when I change her ( and that is really often, she messes before, during, after and inbetween bottles, every 3 hours ). Lastly I had Pedi culture her stools for blood and it came up positive. COULD THIS BE ALL BECAUSE OF A SOY ALLERGY???? Pedi wants me to keep her on soy because she is gaining a good amount of weight with it. 6.12 leaving hospital and 7.9 at 2 week visit. Any suggestions and / or alternatives to the soy formula would be greatly appreciated. I have looked into Nutramigen and Alimentum but both contain casein in ver minut amounts and it is already pre-digested. Is this ok for our children. My son is PDD and GFCF for 1 year now and doing great. I will pull her off of the soy by Friday if I strongly feel that is the cause no matter what Pedi say's. Thanks in advance for any info that can help my baby girl. Hugs, Terry.B
