I figured I'd add my Hurricane Frances update as well... & Sharon, glad

to hear you

both have fared well. We are all ok here, but we have been without power since

10 AM

yesterday morning, so we are going on 29 hours now! Wondering how I am online?

God for generators! Hubby is going to kill me, but I am having major internet

withdrawal... We have been boarded up in this house for 4 days now since this

storm has

been such a slow mover. We are going nuts! We are over the worst of the wind

as we are

behind the eye, but now we are having a lot more rainfall. They have lifted the

hurricane

warning for us & we are now under a tropical storm and flood warning. The rain

has not

let up today. Although I shouldn't have ventured out yet, I just drove around

looking to

see if any fast food restaurants were open. I only found 2 that were open with

partial

menus, and 1 pizza place. All the street lights within at least a 5 mile radius

of my house

are out (a few are hanging), lots of trees down, including one monster-size

tree, and a few

cars damaged due to falling trees and/or debris. I live in Broward County,

about 80 miles

south of where the eye hit, but the eye was very large (anywhere from 60-100

miles wide).

We had hurricane force winds that kept me awake most of the night (besides the

fact that I

was sweating to death without air conditioner). I am praying that we get our

power

restored before tonight, but it is not looking very promising. It is still

obviously not safe

for FPL crews to come out & restore power, and I think it will continue to

downpour most

of the day. I'll be unavailable for awhile until we get power back, as hubby

will kill me if I

keep using generator for this - lol!
