OT: relocation & websites info needed

If anyone can recommend some good websites or other info sources,

please help. I've spent many days & hours on the internet looking

for info on school quality (including alternative options),

environmental quality, cost of living, etc, but can't seem to find

the right sites. I have a bright child, almost off the spectrum now

(thanks to gfcf and chelation), but dyslexic. I'm a single mother

working part-time in order to have a family life. We're accustomed

to small town life, but with cultural & educational opportunities

within reach. That doesn't seem to plug into any search engines!

So if you've got any ideas, please let me know.
