Guest guest
> Ok here we go again discussing tunafish! My latest issue of Consumer > Reports Magazine (June 2001) has a big article about tuna fish on page 16. > They are seriously concerned about the level of mercury in tuna fish. WOW! , at age 3, won't eat tuna yet, but I ate it frequently during my pregnancy (on the advice of doctors!). His has been tested for toxins, and no mercury was found, though he does have high levels of lead and copper (95th percentile each!) Does anyone know how those toxins could have been introduced? Any info on lead and or copper in a child with Autism? Diane Gallant Co-Captain -- Team , 3.0 ASD

In very unscientific terms, mercury hides in the tissues while screwing up the other metal levels. For a better explanation, read the reports under " files " in the autism-mercury group. Often, chelation must occur for some time to get down the other metal levels before mercury begins to leave the body in any great quantity. If you had a hair analysis performed, you may be able to interpret the results using the " counting rules " found in the " files " section.
