Guest guest
Wheat, oats, barley, and rye should all be avoided while GFCF. They all contain harmful gluten. --- susan smith wrote: > > Is it realy so that oatmeal is off the no-no list > for > a gf/cf diet?? Guest guest
In case there's any confusion: there was a celiac study with especially grown, noncontaminated oats in Europe. Kids with CD seem to tolerate THAT oatmeal. Of course, the opioid issue is different from the cd issue. And all oats in the US have cross-contamination. So, yes, sorry, no oatmeal on the gfcf diet. Try cream of rice instead. > > > > Is it realy so that oatmeal is off the no-no list > > for > > a gf/cf diet?? Guest guest
Please explain the fundemental diference between a celiac's leaky gut and an autistic child's leaky gut. Thanks, Greg Fanelli > > > > > > Is it realy so that oatmeal is off the no-no list > > > for > > > a gf/cf diet?? Guest guest
celiac is a genetic condition where the intestional lining is damaged by gluten. In treating autism the theory is that the Stomach lining has been damaged due to a overgrowth of yeast-from over use of antibiotics-the yeast actually cause damage enough to allow some protiens to pass into the blood stream not fully broken down-these are called peptides- the peptides now cause an opiate like effect in the brain, causing the autistic symptoms. removal of the gluten and casein protiens to treat autism is unrelated to celiec{although studies have shown alot of children with autism also have celiac}and it is not an allergy to gluten and casein in the classic sense-no throat swelling itchy hive type allergic reactions. An I g G allergy test does often time pick up the delayed type allergic reactions-the kind capeble of causing behavior problems as symptoms. There are other theroys on how the gut gets leaky in the first place, but the yeast conection is the most prevalent theory/ F Re: oatmeal > Please explain the fundemental diference between a celiac's leaky gut > and an autistic child's leaky gut. > > Thanks, > > Greg Fanelli > > > > > > > > > > Is it realy so that oatmeal is off the no-no list > > > > for > > > > a gf/cf diet??
