Guest guest
My success with making almond butter in my food processor was iffy. After damaging the unit twice (an old Oster Kitchen Center) I decided to bite the bullet and buy a Cuisinart Prep 11 Plus. What a great machine! I can't make as large an amount of almond butter at one time as I would like (they say not to process more than two cups of nuts at a time), but it goes so easily and smoothly that making two separate batches is no big deal. I don't have to intervene in the process at all, it just does it all by itself. The unit is really easy to use and clean. They have a 14 cup version, but unless you are a caterer the 11 cup unit should be more than enough. It even has a dough blade and speed, though I haven't tried that yet. It lists for about $230, but I bought it at Bed, Bath, and Beyond because they send me a 20% coupon off a single item every two months or so. Saved $46 on the machine this way. If you're looking for a way to make the diet easier to do, take a look at the Prep 11 Plus, it's very cool. -
