Guest guest
Pardon my spelling; I haven't seen this written out yet. My daughter has terrible ibs/gastrointestinal/motility (take your pick) problems and we've tried various things. The doctor has now recommended that I put her on miralax, which she is already on, and metamucil or citracell both. She was on metamucil for quite a while wbefore miralax but not concurrently taking both. I am pretty sure metamucil is not gfcf but was wanting to know about citracell; since we're gradually switiching everything over to gfcf I don't want to take a step backward by putting her on a supplement that isn't. Thanks for any information. Cheryl
Guest guest
Thanks, but this doesn't answer my question, although I do appreciate your opinion. This isn't loose stools; they are looser now because of the things we've tried but it's either hard stools or constipation or just extra pain or cramping; since she can't tell me, I don't know for sure. Our doctor says that research is showing that this often has to do with the neural pathways. I also hope that the diet will help, and this is actually the primary reason I'm trying it with her. But this young lady has episodes where she's screaming in agony and biting her arm and too aggressive to be touched when she hurts and putting her feet up on the edge of the tub because of the cramping I assume. So if the diet works to help I'll be glad to remove anything that is no longer necessary, but I can't adopt a " wait and see " attitude in the face of this kind of agony. Sorry, don't take this personally; but she is having one terrible day today and has had problems 5 out of seven days this week probably due to some kind of flu bug we both picked up in addition to her ordinary problem, I cerrtainly am trying to help her long-term and the diet is to that end, but I need to do whatever I can for her NOW. So can anybody please tell me if the citracell is or is not gfcf? Cheryl
