Guest guest
Jodi R. I can only imagine the torn feelings that you are feeling inside. Anything that has to do with your child is never easy. I am praying for you and your family and I know as a mother you will make the right decision. People always say that kids bounce back so quickly and believe me we experienced that first hand. This past November went through open heart surgery and went into the hospital on Monday and by Thursday night when all tubes were off of her she was being pushed in the hallways and having a great time. We left the hospital on Friday and believe me she was acting as her normal self. It was really amazing. The open heart surgery was not our first option, however, the first option did not work and so we had to go with the open heart surgery which in the long run is the better way to go. We obviously wanted to go the less evasive route but wound up then putting in the hospital twice and if you count having to go back the next day to the er for 8 hours after the first procedure failed - three times to the hospital. Although I must say it was right before her open heart surgery when we met with the geneticist who diagnosed RSS. Again, I can not exactly know what you are going through, but I do know the feeling of having to make a decision for your child like that. I believe you will make the right decision and of course you know everyone here is praying for all of you and here to support you. God Bless you and your family B
Guest guest
, I can't thank you enough for your kind words. What you did just really reached out and touched me. It is so sweet that you are thinking of us and praying for . Thank you so much. I can't even begin to understand what you must have gone through with though. Sounds like your decision was much more life or death than 's is. Although aspiration is not good, but I think we are catching it early enough that hopefully it won't have too many lifelong effects. I can't imagine having to go through my child having open heart surgery. That must have been the worst feeling for you and your family. I know I personally would be a WRECK!! It is amazing how fast she sprung back from it though. I hear a lot of the people on here talk about how tough our kids are, and I can only attest for , but it seems that they really do have a special gift of bouncing back quickly after these types of things. I am so glad that did so well, and I take it still is doing well. I am so touched by your post to me, I can't even tell you. It is posts like that that really help you through these hard decisions. I will post later what our plan is for now.
