Guest guest
Hi Barb- I did have IBS at my hyper outset and thought it would go away after RAI. It didn't though even when I became hypo. Maybe I have celiac disease like some of the other people on this list. I've never checked. If I were you I'd go to the ATA site and pull something up or go to Pubmed or Medline and try to find the abstract. It's really upsetting when doctors think that just because you're within the normal range, you aren't sick. If you tell him at the outset that you have no intention of going outside the normal reference range for any of your labs, he's the unreasonable one. If he doesn't do that for you, you should find a doctor that will. And you can ask him to pull up studies supporting his/her view that it's impossible to have symptoms when you're within the normal range. He won't be able to (and will probably tell you it's his experience) and you'll be able to say " If it doesn't matter because patients don't have symptoms no matter where they're at in the reference range, it shouldn't matter where in the normal reference range I'm at. So let's try it. " Take care, dx & RAI 1987 (at age 24) > Hi - I just posted to Terry my update after > talking to my endo. I am so depressed.
