Hi Kim,

I live in New England. Hurricanes are very weak when they get here so

we do not have the worries that you do. However, I do know and

appreciate the danger, power and fury of a CAT 4+ hurricane. My

advice, if you hve relatives, friends, or whatever north and west of

FLA, go visit them.

If you can afford it, you can come here to New Hampshire.

Good Luck !!!!!!

Hi ,

Same offer, and the same to anyone else on the list in FLA, if you

can get here, I can find you a place to stay.

People in Central FL are going nuts. Many gas stations were out

of " regular " gas today, D batteries and portable TVs are impossible

to find, water, bread, etc. is becoming scarce and traffic is

UNbelievable.

Joe works in a Walgreens in Kissimmee, who got hit harder than

Orlando, and he currently has a 2.5 hour wait...they usually have a

15 to 30 minute wait. That's how many people are getting meds so

they can " get out. "

Our house is concrete, with no structural damage from Charley. We

have supplies. We also have our 14y/o (but healthy) dog, which

would impede finding a place to stay.

We're staying put.

When was a baby, we used to have to check into the hospital, so we could

My mother lives in Jensen Beach. She and her husband are evacuating

to St. Lucie first thing tomorrow morning. I don't think there is a

place in the state to go to get away from this one. She is just

hoping that by being further inland, the damage will be less.

On the other hand, my mother-in-law is about to pass away. She has

MS and took an extreme turn for the worse in the past week or so.

The nurse thinks it will be just another day or two. At the most.

I just want her to be in peace.

I feel totally helpless. I can't help either one.

Not that you'd likely make it to Canada, but you guys always have an open

home up here as well. It sounds horribly scary. I'll keep you all in my

prayers. Be safe and let us know how you all are when you get a chance.

Best wishes

Debby
