Guest guest
Hi Kim, I live in New England. Hurricanes are very weak when they get here so we do not have the worries that you do. However, I do know and appreciate the danger, power and fury of a CAT 4+ hurricane. My advice, if you hve relatives, friends, or whatever north and west of FLA, go visit them. If you can afford it, you can come here to New Hampshire. Good Luck !!!!!! Guest guest
Hi , Same offer, and the same to anyone else on the list in FLA, if you can get here, I can find you a place to stay. Guest guest
People in Central FL are going nuts. Many gas stations were out of " regular " gas today, D batteries and portable TVs are impossible to find, water, bread, etc. is becoming scarce and traffic is UNbelievable. Joe works in a Walgreens in Kissimmee, who got hit harder than Orlando, and he currently has a 2.5 hour wait...they usually have a 15 to 30 minute wait. That's how many people are getting meds so they can " get out. " Our house is concrete, with no structural damage from Charley. We have supplies. We also have our 14y/o (but healthy) dog, which would impede finding a place to stay. We're staying put. -Sharon- Just an RSS kid who grew up

Although I am very worried about what this hurricane is going to do when it hits (wherever it hits is going to get damaged badly), we have decided to stay at our house. It has been a long time since the threat of a serious hurricane has been predicted to come to my area (I knew Charley was going to miss us). When was a baby, we used to have to check into the hospital, so we could have oxygen hookup and a power source for his medical equipment. The only equipment he has now is his feeding pump. I also don't think he could last at the house if we were out of power for a long time after the storm without the air conditioner, especially because he is wearing a back brace now that is very hot. We were lucky enough to borrow a generator from my husband's workplace, but I am wondering if other people have encountered a situation such as this & what they did. Since we are still unsure about what part of Florida this hurricane is going to hit, I wish all of you who are in Florida worrying with me luck (maybe it will miss everyone & turn at sea - wishful thinking)! Guest guest
My mother lives in Jensen Beach. She and her husband are evacuating to St. Lucie first thing tomorrow morning. I don't think there is a place in the state to go to get away from this one. She is just hoping that by being further inland, the damage will be less. On the other hand, my mother-in-law is about to pass away. She has MS and took an extreme turn for the worse in the past week or so. The nurse thinks it will be just another day or two. At the most. I just want her to be in peace. I feel totally helpless. I can't help either one. Jodi Z.
Guest guest
Not that you'd likely make it to Canada, but you guys always have an open home up here as well. It sounds horribly scary. I'll keep you all in my prayers. Be safe and let us know how you all are when you get a chance. Best wishes Debby Re: Hurricane Frances > > Hi , > > Same offer, and the same to anyone else on the list in FLA, if you > can get here, I can find you a place to stay. > > > Ken M > > > > > Did you see how BIG it is?
