Re: yet another foot/toe problem?

Hi everyone,

OK, I've had numb issues, but not feet or toes. I get it in the hips when I

sleep, and have had to resort to using a pillow under my top knee to keep

from being numb, and also to buying an expensive new mattress. It was

definitely worst when I went hypo, but persists at times even though I'm

not.

But on the foot level, I have another odd problem that has cropped up and I

wonder if anyone else can relate to it: I have a searing pain that runs from

my middle toe on one foot up to nearly my ankle, along the top of my foot

only. It's like a nerve thing, I guess. The toe is sore to the touch,

although I've never done anything to it and wear sensible shoes. I can't lay

with the top of my foot on the sheets or the pain drives me crazy. I can't

wear any shoe that presses on the top of the foot. Any ideas?

Terry

Hi Again Terry. :-)

Believe it or not, I found this other thyroid group out there in

cyberspace......of course since I suffer from CRS I can't tell you exactly where

it was

but it wasn't one of the biggie ones. If I can ever dig up the link I thought I

had saved to it, I will pass it on. Anywho, a couple of people over there had

posted about feet pain and problems and they too were wondering if there was a

link between that and Graves Disease. All I can say is, " anything seems to be

possible with this disorder! " :-) I know I have had chronic foot problems for

about the last 9 years or so, and I see a Podiatrist on a regular basis and

have to wear orthotic inserts. The pain really got bad again about 6 months

before I started my round of doctor visits that led to me finding out about

having Graves....coincidence? Maybe, maybe not. I would say go see a podiatrist

at

any case. Even if he can't say it's linked to Graves, I bet he can help

provide some relief from the pain in your feeties.

Oh, and I get the numb things in my feet and hips and shoulders

too.....better than pain I expect. :-) Weren't we discussing at one point about

how the

symptom list developed? Maybe it's time to add feet pain and numbness to the

list! :-)

Feel better soon my dear.
