Guest guest
Hello Rifat, I would say that what you are looking for is either Occupational or Feeding Therapy. My grandson, , has an Occupational therapist that comes out twice a week, and works on getting him past his oral aversions, so that he can eat orally. We started by doing oral exercises, facial stretching, and desensitizing exercises to get him ready to eat. When we started with Stage 2 baby food, we insisted that he taste whatever we offered. That could just be sticking his tongue out and licking at the spoon, or us touching the spoon to his lips and him licking it off his lips. We gave him a lot of praise for any effort made. Then, we would sit in front of him, with the spoon to his lips, and insist that he open his mouth and take one bit. One bite became 5 bites, and so on. We are now up to 1/2 a Stage 2 jar per feeding session, 2-3 feeding sessions per day. It has taken a long time to get this far, but with practice and patience, has come a long way, and I'm sure that Deniz will too. The key seems to be persistence, patience, never forcing food into their mouth, taking things one step at a time, and hanging in there. Hope this helps!!
