Leah,

I can understand your frustration. Was this a pediatric endocrinologist? I

know the

standard practice isn't to undress a child that old to weigh him/her, but I do

agree with

you that when you are talking about an almost 5 year old girl who weighs 18

lbs., you

would think the doctor's office would be a bit more thorough as 2 lbs. of

clothes on an 18

lb. child is a lot bigger percentage than on a 50 lb. child! I don't know how

severe Olivia's

reflux is and am not familiar with Prilosec, but I do know that depending on the

severity of

the reflux, GI doctors can prescribe higher dosages than the norm for these

types of meds.

My 5 mo. old non-RSS daughter has been on 10 mg Nexium twice a day since she was

2

months old, and I have had one pharmace refuse to fill the prescription saying

the dose

was too high. Her reflux is worse than either of my other 2 kids had it,

including my RSS

child. I am praying she grows out of it!

hey leah!!

maybe you could get something from dr h stating she must be weighed

naked!! that is what dr h gave me at our first visit in ny. it

stated on her note about the visit what was expected at the weigh

ins and how to measure him (since he has assmentry on the left

side). it really makes a difference and i would make a stink over

it!! especially since most meds are based on weight as well!!!

good luck!!
