Guest guest
Hey Sheryl, What concentration of formula is Dalia on?? It can make all the difference in how much we have to get down our kids daily. has been on 30kcal/oz for a long, long time. I hope you don't mind, but I went ahead and calcutlated it out for you, according to Dr H's instructions. At her recommended 130-160kcal/kg, Dalia would need to intake 780-960 calories a day. If you are using a 30kcal/oz formula, she would only need to intake 26-32 oz of formula a day. Easier said than done with our kids! LOL BUT it is possible. I think you misread 's email about the height issue. What Jenn was talking about was the " weight-for-height " chart. This is a chart that compares the ratio between the two, it doesn't measure just one or the other. Our has not yet reached the 3rd% line on either the weight OR the height charts, but was sitting solidly on the 50% line on the " weight-for-height " ratio chart at convention time last year. Dr H took one look at , and proclaimed him way too fat! We couldn't believe it! LOL Under the age of two, caloric intake, not growth hormone, regulates the growth of children. That is why it is SO important that our kids get as many calories as possible. Dr H recommends that our kids complete their caloric catch-up, BEFORE they begin GHT. She felt that had completed his caloric catch-up when his growth flat-lined for a period of time, while his weight kept going up. I know all of this can be overwhelming, and worrisome. Ask anyone that knows me, and they'll tell you that I am OCD when it comes to searching out information, and learning as much as I can to make B's life easier, and to keep him as healthy as I possibly can. If you have any other questions that I can help with, feel free to contact me either privately at pcpets @adelphia.net (no space) or here online. Guest guest
Sheryl:-) Pat is right on target. Not much can change in the next week. See Dr H and find out where Dalia should be.
