Hi Sheryl:-)

The answer to this is very involved I will give you a quick over view and

then we can go into the specifics later. It has been found that many of the

children who go over the 25% start to develop premature adrenarche (pre

puberty) They start to get body odor,...and other signs of adrenarche. Also,

they can start getting insulin resistant so first you have a child who is

prone to hypoglycemia and then just the opposite starts to happen. I have

seen it happen n 18 month olds. I have found that each hospital seems to

have their own definition about adrenarche and I have found that Dr H had

the best handle on what our kids do in this regard. You will learn more

about this at the convention.

Can you tell me, without detail, how do you lower the weight for

height?

I know the convention will answer everything, but it seem ages

away :-)

Dalia is only 8 mos and she does not crawl, but she moves a lot when

she is awake, so I don't know what else to do...she also only eats

formula and very little baby food...she hates it most of the time.

And I always thought that it was good for babies to be a little

fat...Dalia definitely looks like a mini Sumo when she is sitting

and her belly is hanging over her diaper..it is so cute...but she

really doesn't seem so fat to me.

Also, the nutritionist gave me Polycose and Duocal (fat) to add to

her bottles...I only am adding the Polycose at night right now until

Dr. H can tell me otherwise.

I second what Pat said. I seriously doubt she would counsel you to

do anything to help her LOSE weight. I think she would just try to

have you maintain her weight until she can catch up height wise. I

also think you are doing a great job with her. Don't fret! I know

that is hard to say, but you only have a few more days until the

convention! Dr. H will be a wealth of info for you!
