besides the possible head/spine trauma, six feet is a good drop for a small

child. internal injuries should not be forgotten.

my advise: get thee to a hospital....stat.

Gee . Did he lose conciousness at all? Is there bleeding? If he

lost conciousness, I would definitely bring him in to be checked.

Otherwise, watch the signs and call for some expert medical advice.

Your ped should have someone on call on the weekend and they could

give you advice. They should be able to give you signs to look for. I

think a cold compress on the bump should bring down the swelling and

as long as he returns to normal behaviorwise, it may not be an

emergency. If he seems unaffected for the most part after he has

calmed down, he's probably ok but it's good to get medical advice

either way. Here for support but definitely not an expert.

My daughter fell 15 feet off our deck this spring. The doctor kind of blew the

whole thing off since she had no loss of consciousness. They told me to just

watch and see if she was acting abnormally for her. That's what I would do if

I were you. They told me that if she fell asleep, she should be fairly easy to

waken.
