Guest guest
Kristi and Pam - Do either of you have any link for the fibrocystic breasts, hypo, and estrogen connection? I've been lurking in this discussion, but was sparked by Kristi's comment: " Supposed to be fibrocystic breast condition caused by funky estrogen levels due to hypo. " What's the connection here? When I went for my annual gyn exam in Jan 2002, I complained about breast pain and the doc said I had fibrocystic breasts. I didn't have them the year before, and 7 months before this appt in 2002 is when I was diagnosed with Graves'. So it did seem coincidental to me that now that I have a thyroid problem, all of a sudden I have fibrocystic breasts. Plus the fact that I've been hypo for me for almost 2 years now and that makes me wonder. If there's some link, I'd like to print it out as further evidence for my new docs that I am in fact hypo for me! So what's the connection with hypo and estrogen levels? I'm not sure I get that. BTW, I do remember reading a study about hypo and increased risk of breast cancer, but I'll have to find it again.
