Hi Kim,

Susun Weed is a Woodstock, NY, herbalist in the tradition of tte de

Bairacli Levy. She's a big believer in using fresh herbs and being attuned

to nature. Her methods restored my ovulation at age 35, when the gyn said

only Clomid would work and after many years of birth control pills and you

name it. I spent close to a year making my own herbal infusions of fresh

herbs and otherwise working on my health (my naturopath also did blood

testing of vitamin levels plus I did an intestinal cleansing program,

involving herbs, psyllium seed, and

skin brushing, which helped my liver).

Susun Weed's methods clearly worked for me. She has you take large amounts

of what she calls tonic herbs (nettle, red clover, and I think the third

was raspberry leaf) and more measured doses of the stronger herbs (I used

dong quai and false unicorn root, which I believe are hormonal). I think

her book is called The Thirteen Months of the Childbearing Year (it covers

herbs to avoid and other preparations for preganancy, and extends into the

months after birth). I'm now using her " Menopausal Years " instead, though

at 49 I'm not there yet. I'll give you the publisher info from that book as

I'm nearly positive they did the Childbearing Year, too: Ash Tree

Publishing, POB 64, Woodstock, NY 12498. Phone was Area Code 914 but

that changed to 845 recently: .

I could have benefited from a gynecologist running the proper blood tests

to evaluate my hormnal standing and balance, but nevertheless the regime

got me ovulating again. Basal body temperature monitoring is also a good

thing, and these days they have computerized set-ups to help you predict

ovulation. Plus I heard egg white makes a helpful medium to speed the sperm

along, though I might worry about bacteria in the raw egg. . . But

certainly there are more remedies than just

the ones the MDs know.

Best wishes,
